I have a lot of reasons to thank Pinterest. From teaching me how to paint furniture, to exposing me to quite possibly the cutest pictures of baby elephants known to man, it has been there to fulfill needs I did not even know I had. However, I never realized the sheer power Pinterest could have on a business or its products until I saw it in motion.
Frill’s signature coral bow skirt exploded on Pinterest and Tumblr and has not only brought more exposure to our sorority focus, but also expanded Frill’s market to bridesmaid services. Watching the growth of repins, followers, and emails has truly been astounding. I think it is the creative thinking of the Pinterest community that we really have to thank. The new era of country-chic weddings, or homemade and personalized additions to weddings really brought the idea of bridesmaid skirts to the forefront. Steering away from the traditional, and finding innovative ways to show off a bride’s personality (and on a budget) are what our customers from Pinterest are looking for.
Our skirts are each made to order, giving that personal feel to our business model and relationships with our customers. Every time I stumble upon Frill on random pages on Pinterest, I am reminded of the hard work put in by our owners, Sharon and Kate, as well as the supportive Pinterest community. So, thank you pinners! You have opened our eyes to new possibilities for our business, and also never fail to make me wish I was a good cook.
